Our Living Room

Since the weather has been nice, Clay has been doing a lot of yard work every night. This means our yard looks great, but we haven't done much indoors. Our living room has been finished for awhile but here are the before/during/after pictures:

Here is move in day once again:

Clay and my dad spent a lot of time in this room. The hardest part was the prep work. Here are the "during" pictures:

This room is one of my favorites! I would still like to add more to this room, but it is nice and homey for now. Here are the "after" pictures:

They aren't the best "after" pictures, but hopefully you see the difference. The pictures were taken right before my little brother's "Good-bye" party. He is in Austria playing baseball for the Wiener Neustadt Diving Ducks. I could not be more proud of him! This past weekend he pitched a great game! It was neat to be able to watch the game over the internet (I felt like I was actually in the stands- you could tell by my screaming at the tv). Ryan is living his dream and giving God all the glory! He has a blog about his experiences in Austria. (http://rkroko.blogspot.com/ ) I pray for him daily that he will continue to play the game he fell in love with as a young kid and that he will be able to impact others for Christ. I can't wait to go visit! Go ducks go!!

"Good" find

On Sunday Clay went to Goodwill to look for a dresser. This is what he brought home for me:

We started to clean it up before painting and realized the previous owners must of liked to paint this piece of furniture. They had painted it brown, then black, then pink and then finally a lighter brown. We sanded the top of the dresser with liquid sander and the electric sander.

This is what it looked like before we started to paint:

I painted it the same cream we used for the other pieces of furniture.

Clay then painted it with the brown glaze:

Instead of paying about $20 for new door pulls, we painted the ones that came with it.
Now we have a dresser for our guest bedroom!

Since we already had the paint this project only cost us the price of the dresser ($50). I would say we had a "good" find! We finished it in less than a week too! Looking forward to more projects to help make this house our home.
